ARE YOU SEEING A DU SCREENSAVER WHEN CHARGING YOUR ANDROID DEVICE? THEN YOU NEED TO UNINSTALL THESE APPS RIGHT NOW

Recently, there has been a malware outbreak on Android devices, this malware is usually in the form of an unwanted screensaver that takes over your screen to display ads when charging your devices. The DU screensaver malware in question is either called Du Quick charge, DU battery boost, Du Battery charge and other DUs you can think of. Although it isn’t malicious, I was really angry when I saw it on my device some weeks back.

So what could be responsible? Apparently, the DU screensaver comes as a result of several app developers deliberately installing them to make some extra ad revenue. Pending the time Google fixes this, the only solution is to manually uninstall the apps. Now, thanks to the list compiled with the help of a Google Docs spreadsheet started by Reddit user phincone, you can see some of the apps causing this:
ES File Explorer (prior to the update)
ES AppLocker
Flashlight & LED Torch
FotoRus – Photo Editor
GO Keyboard
GO SMS Pro
GO Weather
360 Security
Amber Weather Widget
App2SD
AppLock
HiFont
iMuslim
InstaMag – Photo Collage
KittyPlay Wallpapers Ringtones
LOCX App Lock
Next Browser
Photo Collage Editor
Photo Editor Pro
PIP Camera-Photo Editor
Share cloud
Solo Launcher
TouchPal Keyboard
TrustGo Ad Detector
UC Browser
XBrowser
XBrowser – Super Fast & mini
Xender
Z Camera
I must point out that ES file explorer updated their app to remove the DU malware, but if you are still seeing it, you can either update it or go to Es Explorer, Tools and disable charging boost. For Xender, click on the little gear (Settings) icon in the top right corner, you will see an option to switch off the Xender Quick charge feature

Who else has witnessed this screensaver?
