YouTube To Roll Out 15 Seconds Video Story Features

After Tiktok and Instagrams video story features, YouTube may be rolling out new video story features as YouTube is now testing a short 15-seconds video feature.

As reported by PhonesWiki YouTube may call this feature as ‘Shorts,’ and testing has already started for the feature. The experiments have begun on mobile, both Android and iOS. With a small group of people, the company announced few days ago on their community forum.

“We’re testing out a new way for creators to easily record multiple clips directly in the YouTube mobile app and upload as one video. If you’re in this experiment, you’ll see an option to ‘create a video’ in the mobile upload flow,” according to YouTube.

A user has to click on the red button on the screen to start recording. The next step is to release it to stop recording if it is not published in 15 seconds. Recording gets stopped automatically at 15 seconds.

“Repeat these steps until you’re done capturing footage up to a maximum length of 15 seconds. If you’d like to upload a longer video, you’ll still be able to do so by uploading from your phone gallery instead of recording through the app,” YouTube said.

YouTube on Thursday said that it has also started testing out a manual language selector for voice search.

“To improve the YouTube Voice Search experience, we are testing out a way to select a different language for voice search than what’s currently set in your app’s settings,” it said.

YouTube generally keeps experimenting with new features with a small group of people and gathers their feedback. They improve and test again until the function is perfectly fine for the audience on a large scale.
